The academic field of conflict and violence research has expanded tremendously over the last two decades, and it is still expanding, in particular in and with regard to the global south. Finding the scholar with the right expertise on a given topic can be a puzzling experience, since conflict and violence is one of the few truly interdisciplinary academic fields.
The Information Platform Violence Research (IPVR) aims at resolving the puzzle. It provides a searchable database of academics and educational institutions involved in conflict and violence research. For each database entry you will find information on
- personal details about the registered individual or institution
- former and current research projects
- geographical areas of expertise
IPVR has been developed by the International Centre for Violence Research (ICVR), an initiative of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research on Conflict and Violence (IKG), Bielefeld University, Germany, with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It provides a keyword search engine for publications, projects, topics, institutions, and people ordered by region and country.
If you want to be represented in IPVR, as an academic and/or institution, please register now! Registration should not take more than 10 minutes.
